Day 14 - September 3
Today we loaded up all 4 electric bikes, our 2 on the rack and Peter and Megin’s inside the van and drove to Buckley Bay to catch the ferry to Denman Island. We biked around the south half of the island to catch the next ferry to Hornby Island. There we biked up a super, steep hill and got on a path that wound most of the way to the town square where there were restaurants and stores. We had the most amazing wraps and tacos for lunch there and then biked down to the beach. The beach was covered in driftwood and off to the side wonderful smooth rocks that we climbed on to the point. It was very windy today, so the water was very wavy and wild. It was so beautiful! We then continued around the rest of the island to the ferry again back to Denman Island. We then biked the north end of the island back to the next ferry and the van. It was an amazing day. We are quite tired now. I then made mashed potatoes and sausages and Megin made spinach, kale, mushrooms and onions all cooked together and we had a cozy supper together in the van. The weather was starting to threaten rain and cooling off. It’s been extremely hot and dry here for quite a while. They need rain like crazy.
